Vision, Mission & Objectives

A clear reading of our direction, purpose, and priorities.

Vision

To improve the health and quality of life of populations through high-quality scientific research conducted in the fields of infectious diseases and environmental sciences.

Mission

To contribute to the control of infectious diseases and the protection of the environment, through evidence-based scientific research and the strengthening of local scientific capacities.

Objectives

To conduct applied, high-impact research programs, strengthen partnerships, and deliver sustainable solutions for health and environmental protection.

  • To conduct cutting-edge research to evaluate, both in the laboratory and in the field, vector control tools such as long-lasting insecticidal nets, indoor residual spraying, eave tubes, repellents, as well as vector resistance to insecticides.
  • To carry out epidemiological and parasitological studies to assess disease prevalence, transmission dynamics, the impact of control interventions, and resistance mechanisms developed by parasites.
  • To conduct studies on the quality and management of natural resources (water, soil, and others) and the environment, as well as on the impact of climate change on health and agriculture, in order to develop innovative solutions
  • To promote national and international collaboration with partners from the private sector, academia, and government institutions working in the fields of infectious diseases and environmental protection.
